Volunteer Opportunities
The Brighton is a peaceful and quiet haven. The spacious, comfortable apartments afford independence and privacy. For those times when you do want company, conversation, education, a shared meal, shopping trips, a game or movie, The Brighton, through the The Brighton Resident Programs, and the Southeast Seattle Senior Center, offer a wide variety of opportunities to be part of an active community.
Families, friends and neighbors are welcome at most events sponsored by The Brighton’s Resident Outreach Committee. A group of residents, Board members and a staff member meet monthly to discuss issues of interest to residents and to plan events and activities. Our Resident Outreach coordinator is glad to hear suggestions for meaningful and enjoyable events. For more information, see our Resident Programs page.
The Southeast Seattle Senior Foundation believes that community programs can help solve problems, enrich lives, and give us opportunities to experience new things. Here we’ve listed just a few. There are many more to experience. For more information, see our Community Programs page.
ARE WE BETTER WITH AGE?
Many 70-year-olds report higher levels of happiness than 30-year olds.
"I love living here! No one bothers me, and I don't bother anyone. If I want to be active, I can. I just harvested my garlic from my P-Patch"
~ Ernestine, Resident
