The Brighton Staff

Our staff is responsible for the day to day operations of the building. From marketing, fundraising, maintenance, housekeeping and communications, we do our best to provide a comfortable, clean and secure building for our residents. The staff is a stable core, highly experienced in their jobs.

Cynthia Griggs Streltzov, Executive Director
Cindy has more than 25 years experience managing non-profit organizations in the Seattle area. Along with a background in real estate and property management, she has brought her financial, project development, fund development and marketing skills to The Brighton. Under her leadership, The Brighton has received numerous grants to upgrade the building and vacancies have reduced significantly. There has been a waiting list for apartments since August of 2005.

Cindy joined The Brighton staff in September 2004.

Pearl McCauley, Resident Manager
Pearl has been managing affordable housing projects for more than 20 years. She was hired by the Southeast Seattle Senior Foundation in July 1999 when The Brighton was purchased. As Resident Manager at The Brighton, she’s the first person prospective and new residents meet. Pearl lives at The Brighton and provides that 24/7 management that plays a big role in the buildings success. An expert at project planning, Pearl makes sure apartments are ready for new residents and capital improvements happen on schedule.

Deb Figen, Assistant to the Executive Director & Resident Outreach Coordinator
Deb joined the staff at The Brighton in October 2007 and has become an advocate for our residents. She staffs the Resident Outreach Committee and works with the committee to develop and organize programs and events for the residents. Deb is a professional graphic designer, and has greatly improved the look, content and effectiveness of our communication and outreach materials.

Linda Lubow, CPA
The SSSF’s CPA, Linda has been at The Brighton since July 1999. Her expertise and guidance has ensured that financial compliance and reporting is accurate. Our auditors over the years have consistently praised Linda for her expert financial skills.

Mario Siu-Chang, Maintenance Manager
Mario was The Brighton maintenance person in 1999 when SSSF purchased the building. His knowledge of the building is indispensable. His dedication to the building and the residents carries through in all his work. Mario is on call 24/7 for emergencies.

Haile Kassa, Housekeeping
Haile is our newest staff member. Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Haile was raised in Germany and moved to Seattle in 2008. In addition to being a good-natured and efficient worker, he speaks English, Amharic, Spanish and German!

Juana Porras, Housekeeping
On staff since July 1999, Juana maintains high standards of cleanliness in all common areas and on the grounds. Often a grueling task, Juana's good disposition always shines through.
